Cloudrop is something I’ve been working on for a little while now. I want to take the idea of using ‘the cloud’ to store files and play with it a little.
Some of the services like the one that rhymes with ‘chocbox’ are really good, don’t get me wrong. However, I’m thinking more about the uploading…
Quite often when I’m with my friends one of them will say “Ahh look at this photo from the other night…”, sounds a bit cheesy I know. Normally it’s “I’ll e-mail it to you” or “I’ll put it on Facebook”, you get the point. Downloading files is the easy bit, web browsers are slowly getting more universal and more reliable when it comes to dealing with downloading or viewing files.
The point I’m making is it’s the uploading which can be a pain, sometimes that’s not quite so simple or universal, especially without an ‘app’. With Cloudrop I’m going to try and simplify that bit, to make uploading and sharing files super super quick.
I’m not trying to re-invent the wheel here! Gawd. This is what I like and when I thought it up it seemed like a good way to expand my knowledge.
